About

A little about me, and why we’re here.

I’m Inês, the founder of The Social. Originally from Coimbra, I spent fifteen years in Lisbon and lived abroad before returning to my hometown.

My career has been about bringing people, ideas and projects together across international teams. But alongside my corporate life, there has always been a passion for dance, culture, art and craftsmanship.

Everywhere I’ve travelled, I’ve wanted to experience something local. In Brazil, I wanted to take a samba and funk class. In China, to try Chinese calligraphy. In Morocco, to visit the workshops where wool is spun and rugs are woven. I’ve always been curious about the people behind a craft, the stories they carry and what we can learn by trying something ourselves.

That curiosity is at the heart of The Social.

Coming back to Coimbra also made me think about how we connect as adults. We want to try new things, meet new people and make time for ourselves, but often we’re waiting for someone else to make the plan.

I created The Social to make that first step easier, bringing people together through creative workshops, retreats and shared experiences that connect us to a place and to each other.

Sometimes that means making something with your hands. Sometimes it means stepping onto a padel court or spending a weekend somewhere beautiful with people you haven’t met yet. Each experience brings together the care and organisation of my professional life, my love of creativity and culture, and a personal welcome.

You don’t need to know anyone or bring someone along. Come for the experience. Stay for the people you meet.
